This print is beautiful. It's a commonly depicted subject, but it is very special. The composition, tonal quality, and movement are exceptional and evocative. The piece is true to it's title... breathtaking!

I have wanted this for my pro life bulletin board at my Catholic Church and I wasn’t disappointed. It is beautiful and it has so much meaning put in a picture. A picture speaks better then words and this picture says it all. Thanks
Artist's Description
Portrait by an artist known to us only as the Master of the Countess of Warwick (active 1537-1599) of the courtly and beautiful Hon Dorothy Latimer (1549-1608), first wife of Thomas Cecil later 1st Earl of Exeter. The pendant she is holding shows Greek hero Perseus and the decapitated head of snake-haired female monster, Medusa. Exactly what the symbolism is here is unclear. Is she warning Thomas about a hidden part of her nature? Or is it a tribute identifying him with bold hero Perseus? It could be either, really.
